What Sets EMSA Apart?
Sustainable Funding Without General Fund Dollars
- We are supported mainly by patient revenue. EMSA receives no tax dollars from Tulsa or OKC general fund, instead receiving monthly disbursements from each city’s respective EMSAcare fund. We operate without taxpayer burden and without compromising clinical quality.
Shared Infrastructure and Administrative Costs
- By sharing infrastructure and administrative costs and responsibilities between the two largest cities in Oklahoma, EMSA reduces the financial burden on each beneficiary city’s budget.
EMSAcare Minimizes Patients’ Out-of-Pocket Costs
- From the initial 9-1-1 call through the end of the billing process, EMSA manages every aspect of the transport process to ensure consistent quality care and maximize reimbursements, which means patients pay minimal out-of-pocket costs.
- EMSAcare members pay a small monthly fee on their utility bill and in return, EMSA waives all out-of-pocket costs for emergency.
A Major Economic Driver in Oklahoma
- EMSA employs 750 people and, through their EMSA Advantage program, has certified more than 200 new EMTs since 2022.
- Between employment and local vendor support, EMSA generates over $202 million in economic impact across Oklahoma every single year.
