Director of Operations, Western Division

Michael Parrish serves as the Director of Operations for EMSA’s Western Division, overseeing approximately 300 paramedics, EMTs, logistics technicians, fleet technicians, and system status controllers. EMSA’s Western Division responds to approximately 130,000 service requests annually. In this role, Michael leads, coaches, and develops a team of managers and field operations supervisors in a dynamic EMS system that presents unique challenges and opportunities. Michael prioritizes efficiency and continuous process improvement to ensure optimal performance in EMSA’s Western Division each day.

Michael joined EMSA in 2012 as an EMT, advancing through the Field Training Officer ranks before attending EMSA’s in-house Paramedic School. After becoming a paramedic, he continued his progression through the FTO ranks, later serving as a Field Operations Supervisor and then as Operations Manager for EMSA’s Western Division. During EMSA’s operational transition, he was offered and accepted the role of Director of Operations.
